Porcupine – Living With Wildlife (and its quills)

Porcupine – Living With Wildlife (and its quills)

Porcupine Steve stopped in his tracks. “Get your camera ready, Rob.” And so I did because he knows a photo op. A big, round, slow and pokey, not-in-a-hurry-to-get-anywhere quill pig waddled down the side of the road. It took me 15 or 20 seconds of running to catch up close enough to take a few pictures but by the time I brought the camera up, the porcupine left the road and headed into the woods. Hello Moose! – Ms. Moose Comes to Call

Hello Moose! – Ms. Moose Comes to Call

Hello Moose! Well hello moose! This cow moose strolled through the orchard and dropped in for a photo bomb. She’s wandered all over the homestead. Wood ducks…

Bobcat on the Homestead

Bobcat on the Homestead

Bobcat on the Homestead I’ve been waiting for him. Let’s call this bobcat “him.” Could be a female, I don’t know yet. I’ve been waiting for a bobcat to show up. It’s unusually warm so the snow is compacting and dropping but still,…

Winter Mornings on the Homestead

Winter Mornings on the Homestead

Winter Mornings Winter mornings have taken on a new way, or more accurately, returned to old ways. I woke this morning, excited about the day ahead, and snuggled up to Steve. As of last night my freelance writing days are on long-term old…or maybe over. I’m still working on cutting back and refocusing, and I’m making a lot of progress. I’ve kept one publication, Walden Publishing, and let the rest go so that I have time to finish writing a…
