Coffee Bean Knitting
Kristin Follette Coulombe is someone near and dear in my heart. Kristin’s my oldest daughter and one of my first sponsors here in the blog. Meet Kristin! Check out her store. She has her first hat pattern for sale now (it’s only $5!!!), and it’s a download so you get instant gratification. It’s the – Popham Double Brim Beanie Pattern. I was taught to knit and crochet by my grandmother when I was around seven years old. I crocheted here and there throughout my life but really picked up knitting about five years ago.

When did you decide to knit as a business?
I had been steadily knitting for about a year when I decided it might be time to open a shop. One can only have so many hats, scarves, and blankets for themselves!
And crochet. That’s new to Coffee Bean Knitting, isn’t it?
It is! I do prefer to knit over crochet, but I feel that adding crochet items allows me to bring new elements and designs to my products.
When it comes to knitting I think most of us immediately go to winter in our minds. You have more than luxurious warm scarves in your store. What else do you offer?
Having a primarily winter based company has forced me to think outside the box in the warmer months. This spring I worked on designing baby blankets and bags.
Vogue China. Seriously. Who gets to be in Vogue China!? Tell us about that huge magazine gig!
I was contacted by a stylist about using some of my scarves for a photo shoot and I’m still pinching myself!
Where can find your handknits?
I sell online at Coffee Bean Knitting, and I also do craft fairs in the fall and winter around Massachusetts.
