On my way to the high tunnel, garden cart full of plant material destined for a compost bin I haven’t yet built, I looked into the food plot. She has twins. We’ve seen them together but not in the food plot yet. Early Friday morning a cow moose strolled through as well as another deer.
Steve’s tilled up two wide strips to plant broccoli, oats, turnip, kale and more for the wildlife. He’s also spread a lot of mulch in the other plot. We make it a point to give more to the wildlife than what we take from them.

I had a few minutes before I started baking on Friday so I added a bit to the blog. It’s nice to have a few minutes on a rainy day to sit quietly.

I love to see wildlife in their environment. You have the perfect environment for them. I am.pleased that you plant vegetables for them, and that they probably enjoy some apples from your trees.

Thank you, Janet! Most of the apples are left for wildlife. Two trees produce excellent eating, baking and storage apples so we use a lot of them, but that leaves 40+ trees for our four-footed friends. The brassicas are popping up in the food plot! No oats yet but they’ve been soaked by rain twice so they should germinate soon.
