Bald eagles of Magurrewock Marsh have nested on a man-made platform in in Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge in Baring, Maine since before we moved to the area in 1989. In that time eagles successfully raised eaglets that fledged, had eggs that didn’t hatch, eggs that hatched but an eaglet died, no eggs laid, one of the pair die, a new partner appear, and combinations of these. It’s always interesting to see these eagles, front and center in a busy intersection on what was originally an osprey platform, doing what eagles do.
Bald Eagles on the Nest
Eagles have been on and off the nesting platform often this mild winter. I drive by every two or three weeks and will keep an eye on them. I’ll update anything new and exciting going on.

We have a couple of bald eagles that hang around the marsh looking for food and it never gets old seeing them!
Lady Locust
I love seeing them also. We have quite a few around here.
